Blackjack; Card Counting

Card counting while playing Blackjack is not a crime, but it is not legal in most casinos. There are many different techniques in blackjack card counting and many books on the subject. Most casinos now use three to six decks of cards to fight blackjack card counting. However, you still can count cards and win at blackjack if you have a good photographic memory, and good at counting.

Another big win Playing Video Poker

I took a trip to Mohegan Sun Casino last night and won more than $2,500. I am a big fan of Video Poker. If you like playing slots but don't like the odds that the casino gives you, then you should play video poker. I visited the casino often and try to find the machines that seem to pay off more often than others. I actually have been doing well for the last few months. I found a group of machines that seem to pay off well. However, about two weeks ago the casino moved their machines around to different locations. Once I found the machines I believe to be the same ones that I was use to playing, I decided to use the strategy suggested on BigCasinoMoney. I played the first two machines on the end and hit four deuces for $500 and then hit a Royal Flush for $2000 on the same machine.

Playing Slots? Bet the Max, play the five and ten dollars slots

If you really want to win at the casino you should be willing to bet. There's an old saying; "scared money can't win". Gambling at the casino has it's downside, the odds are against you and you could loose a lot of money. But if you play smartly you can win and win big. The key to winning is knowing what slot machines and table games gives you the best odds or payback percentages. If you are a slot machine enthusiast then you might want to invest a small portion of your casino money in playing $5 or $10 slots. These machines usually offer as much as 92% payback percentage. Also when they hit a Jackpot it's really a Jackpot. Most high limit slots jackpots are $5,000 to $25,000. Some slot machines payout a lot more in Jackpots. When you do play high limits try to play the Max to ensure you get the jackpot.

How to win Progressive Jackpots

Progressive Jackpots slot machines or video slots are becoming more and more popular in most casinos. Recently (in December 2008) I observed another big progressive jackpot win at Mohegan Sun casino in Connecticut. The jackpot was more than 1.2 million dollars on a Wheel Of Fortune $5 coin slot machine. This is the third progressive jackpot on wheel of fortune I observed at Mohegan Sun in the year 2008. There may have been more progressive jackpots, but I personally seen 3 myself at Mohegan Sun. I have seen them hit on 25 cent, $1 and $5 wheel of fortune slots. I have seen them hit for 2 million, 800 thousand and 1 million plus. Progressive slot machines do hit. There is no special secret to winning on these machines other than to play them and always play the max. Most progressive slots are connected to several casinos and there's no way to tell which casino will have the next big win. I only mentioned Mohegan Sun because I just happened to be there win these jackpots hit. Remember, big jackpots do happen, but you must play the max.

Winning Exit Strategy-Leave a Winner

To be a true winner at the casino you must have an exit strategy. This is the most toughest and the most important of all strategies in gambling. You can be a great poker player at the Texas Hold'em table or win thousands at the Craps table, but you are not a winner if you don't leave with more than you came with. As a matter of fact, if you lose everything you gained before you leave the casino then you are a looser. When you enter a casino the odds are against you. Even if you are a blackjack player, a game that gives you the best odds in the casino (a good player can have a 0.1 percent advantage), it means nothing if you leave with nothing. All of us who have spent some time at the casino, one time or another, left stating "man, I should have stopped while I was ahead." Here are a few steps to take in developing a exit strategy that best fit your style of play:

1. Know thyself. Are you a Type A personality? Do you normally play for the big jackpots? Do you like taking your time and staying in the game for as long as you can? Do you like playing with a lot of people around you or would you prefer being at the table or slots by yourself? These questions and questions like these you should ask yourself, and answer, before you play. Knowing who you are and your likely downfalls or shortcomings will help you develop strategies that will protect you from your own demise.
2. Set Limits and Stick to Them. You should have an overall limit on the amount of money you are willing to risk and can afford. You should decided what games, slots and denomination you would like to play before you enter the casino. For example; I have $400.00, I will play $200 at the blackjack table, initial bet $25 per hand, stop if I gain $200. If I loose the $200 I will move to Video Poker (quarter denomination) and play $100, etc... Plan you overall limit and a limit for each game, bet and winnings. This plan has to be made in detail before you enter the casino.
3. Don't get caught up in the game. Sometimes our adrenalin can get the best of us. The casino environment and the games can be so exiting we can loose control. As you play keep saying to yourself "I will not play with emotions". Say this to yourself every two minutes. Playing with emotions will guarantee that you will be a looser.
4. Set time limits. How long do I want to play this game? What time will I take a break to eat or use the facilities?
5. Envision yourself doing each and everyone of these steps. It's like a basketball player taking a free throw before he take the shot. He stands at the line and first imagine himself taking the shot and watching the ball go in the basket. Imagine yourself being a winner.

Gambling is fun but it's a lot more fun leaving a winner.

What not to do in the Casino

I am still amazed at the number of people who visit the casino and just throw their money in the first machine they come to. The other day I was playing video poker and this gentleman placed a $100 bill in the machine, then turn to me and ask "how to you play this"? I asked him if he knew how to play poker? He stated yes. I took the time to show him how to place his bet, how to select hold cards, how to draw new cards and how to cash out. He told me he got it and started playing. As he was playing, I noticed that every time he was dealt a pair he would always hold a high or face card. I asked him, "why are you holding the face card with a pair"? He immediately threw away the face card. I noticed that a lot of people play video poker like they play poker at home with their family and friends. I explained to him that the reason you hold a high card at home because in case you have a tied hand against an opponent at home then the person with the highest side card wins. I then told him that he has no opponent playing video poker. I explained that the objective is to get on of the top four payouts listed on the pay table. When you go to the casino, no matter what game you are playing, blackjack, craps, video poker, etc..., the rules are different in the casino. Take time to learn how to play, read the pay tables and observe others. http://www.bigcasinomoney.com/ offers free strategies on how to win at the casino. Please let us know about your experience.

Read Pay Tables Before You Play

One should always take the time to read the pay tables before they invest money in a slot machine. I don't know how many times I have seen people sit down at a slot machine, place one coin in the machine, hit three red sevens and think they had hit a jackpot. But to their surprise the machine requires three coins in order to pay on red sevens. I have seen one individual put $350 dollars in a slot machine, hit the top jackpot, and found out that he had just won $250. Another bad choice in slot play is the one quarter only play machine; hit red sevens and win 100 coins or $25.00. These machines carry the same basic odds as all other machines. The difference is that they are considered as sucker bet machines. The photo above is example of a machine that pays a progressive amount of $250. Just because the jackpot is less than most machines does not mean they hit more often. Always, always read the pay tables.
